At the heart of the E-Air VSD air compressor is a variable-speed drive permanent magnet motor, a motor that offers excellent efficiency and low noise levels. The integrated permanent magnet motor in the E-Air H450 VSD is a rugged motor developed by Atlas Copco for outdoor applications. The motor's windings are encapsulated in resin, making it completely sealed and unaffected by water and dust (1P 66). The VSD electric mobile air compressor utilizes a unique design with a permanent magnet motor and variable speed drive, making it 50% more energy efficient than a fixed-speed air compressor under partial load or unload conditions, and it can operate in this state for 90% of its lifespan.
Each E-Air VSD is equipped with PACE technology (Pressure Regulated via Cognitive Electronics), an electronic pressure regulation system. Pressure can be selected on the compressor's controller; the application determines the flow rate, and the PACE controller locks in and adjusts to the optimal combination. Setting the pressure requires only three clicks and can be selected in increments of 0.1 bar/2 psi. One air compressor can meet the needs of a variety of applications. From 5 bar/72 psi for running hand tools, to 10 bar/145 psi for sandblasting, to up to 14 bar/200 psi for cable blowing, it is versatile enough to meet all needs. Traditional fixed-speed air compressors operate at a constant pressure level, always providing the corresponding maximum flow rate. However, the PACE air compressor can provide additional flow at lower pressure settings. When the load decreases, PACE will adjust the motor speed accordingly, thereby saving energy and costs.
